The Burnley Methodist Circuit consists of nine churches in the town and the surrounding district. It is part of the Lancashire District of the Methodist Church of Great Britain.

Hapton has recently had extensive building refurbishment work done which has included up to the minute I.T. equipment with interactive display boards along with wonderful modernisation in the toilet facilities.
An Edwardian themed Open Day -Celebrating 100 years of education in the village, was celebrated on Saturday 21st Janaury which saw the school very busy with pupils past and present viewing the changes, looking at School Records, photos, registers, log books etc as well as enjoying the delights of `Ye olde sweete shoppe', Cake competion, Name the bear, jewellery stall, tea/coffe and scones.
The churches located close to these schools play an active role within them.
