Have you set a New Years Promise to help others?
Read on and see if you can help at Cap Job Club as we are always looking for volunteers and God will have given you some skills that can help our members.
We meet once a week on Tuesday for breakfast, community time, computer time and training time. Our Volunteers come on a rota basis so commit to what they can realistically offer… anything from an hour is willingly accepted.
The Job Club is always busy. In the run up to Christmas, numerous members attended Steps to Employment. During this time 3 members found employment and 6 members completed the course and received certificates.
For Christmas the group and those associated with Job Club went for a Christmas meal together which everyone enjoyed and included the exchanging of gifts. It also served as a celebration both of the season and a goodbye to those who are now working.
Since returning in the New Year we have also been asked to support the Coffee Bar. This has resulted in 2 of our members starting to Volunteer on a regular basis.
If you want to know more just pop down... you will be made most welcome.

Job Centre Plus and the Job Club have a good working relationship which are beneficial to all the groups members, recently myself and Roger were invited to attend a workshop on the introduction of Universal Credit (U.C.). The information received was helpful in alleviating some of the members concerns. This link also means they direct people in our direction and we frequently have new people attending the Job Club.
We have had a recent visit by Joe from Bootstrap who talked about their service to the group. He also spoke to individuals, looking at the member’s own specific needs.
Future Plans
Visiting Speakers are being arranged to cover First Aid, Volunteering, Universal Credit and Budgeting.
The group are developing friendship which are supportive to each other. So there has been a request for some social time together so it is hoped to plan a trip in the summer - watch this space for what is ultimately decided on and possibly photos.
